STILL ALIVE

MINISTER REPORTED DEAD

TWICE IN THREE YEARS

CAMBRIDGE, November 20

A report was received from Wellington at the Methodist Synod at Cambridge yesterday that the Rev. H. T. Peat, of Hamilton, was dead. Mr Peat immediately rose stating that he was in perfect health and that the report of his death was “grossly exaggerated.”

Mr Peat asked if he might have an official assurance that he was still .alive, as Mrs Peat had already received messages, of condolence and obituary tributes. The chairman smilingly granted the request. Mr Peat stated to-day that 1 he had no idea how the report originated. Three years ago a similar report was circulated, and an inquirer nearly fainted when Mr Peat answered the telephone and assured hs friend that the report was not true.
