DIVORCE FIGURES
INCREASE in ENGLAND. (Per British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 20. British judges laet year dealt with 4,638 divorce petitions. This number was the highest since the official statistics were first compiled in 1908. The judges dissolved no fewer than ■3,925 marriages, of which 1,271 were > on wives’ petitions. i Geilue Cobb, chairman of the Marriage Law Reform League, say 3: •‘dhe main ireasdn for the increase in divorce is that a. wife can now sue for divorce on equal terms with a husband.” !
