FAREWELL TO GIBRALTAR. LONDON, November 17, On tile completion of bis five-year term of office a s Governor of. Gibraltar, General Sir Alexander J. Godley i s on bis way to England with Lady Godley. His departure was marked by impressive military and naval ceremonial. Tile streets from Government House to Lagged Staff gates were lined by troop s and ’Boy Scouts. After having inspected a guard of honour of the 2nd Battalion of th e Welsh Fusiliers mounted a t Ragged Staff steps, Sir Alexander and. Lady Godley took leave of a large number of friends. When they had embarked a salute of 17 guns was fired and a band played “Anld Lang Syne.” General Godley is retiring from the Army. General Sir Charles Harington is the new Governor of Gibraltar.
