Reporting to the Provincial ' Executive of the Farmers’ Union to day, the secretary; : Mr. Jjimes Watson , referring to the Mortgagors’. Relief Commission, said the requirements of a mortgagee could not bo ignored in favour of. a mortgagor hut there was an ever-increasing tendency on the part of the Courts'to refuse relief recommended by l the Commission. It was this course of action which prompted the members of the Wellington rHiustment commission to retire to their homes as a protest, wherefore the President immediately wired to the Minister of Justice asking for a speedy and sympathetic settlement of the difficulty. The president’s action was endorsed, Mr Hugh Morrison stating that he had been careful not to come between the Commission and the Court.
