Falling eighty' feet/ over ai ' steep papa cliff into the ' Wanganui Eiver, a few miles above the Parakino this morning, James .Williamson, aged 23 years, single, of Trentham, broke his neck and died instantly. He , had dismounted from his horse: and was standing-on a narrow -sheep track' unhooking some slip rails. It is considered that he either lost his footing or that the horse .bumped into him, causing hint to lose his balance. His workmate,, Ernest McKinley, who . was following about 100 yards behind arrived at the rails-arid saw Williamson lying at the foot of the cliff. The body was taken to the opposite side of the river and was theff brought into Wanganui.
