Clifford Riddle, aged 10, fell into a storni-water channel at Hawthorn, a suburb of Melbourne, and wa, s carried a mile through open and closed sections of f the. drain before being washed into the Yafra River. He ihanaged to paddle ashore, little the worse for his experience.
