The .first step tb wards / the selection of the - Australian team for England will be' through a. testimonial match for the benefit, of the veteran Victorion bowlers, D. Blackie and H. Ironmonger. The match was due to begin to-day, but heavy..- incessant rain necessitated its abandonment for the day. Wootlfnl 1 deads one team, consisting of Woodful!, Ponsford, Darling, Kippax, Nitsehke, McCabe, Oakley, Oldfield, Rlaekie, \Tiiomnonger ,and Wall, the twelfth man being Flbetwood-Smith. Richardson leads the other, namely, V. Richardson, Fingleton, o?Brian, Bradman, Bromley, Lee, lligg, Barnett, Nagel, O'Reilly, Bbeliug, the twelf.-h man being Grimmett. . The match extends till Wednesday npxf. The Board of Control has decided, at the request of the Australian captain, Woodfull, to send sixteen men to England; The team will be announced on January 31.
