2,800,000 MORE BACK AT WORK

WASHINGTON, November 16. Mr Perkins reported to-day that eighty-five thousand workers received jobs and six million, dollars ivere added to the weekly payrolls during October, according to a survey of eightyfive manufacturing and sixteen nonmanufacturing industries. Since March over 2,800.000 workers have returned Hi employment, with an addition tof over three billion dollars added to the payrolls within a seven month period.
The National Association of manufacturers announced that 1630 strikes occurred in the United States during the first three months of the year, 588 thousand workers being involved. There were 1100 strikers in the last four months, with a wage loss of 24 milion dollars. The time lost was seven milion working days, the employers ' losing 6,500,000 dollars. The total loss in four months was approximately thirty million dollars. , General Johnson returned from a raid-western speaking tour to-day, and he informed President Roosevelt that the N.R.A. was progressing satisfactorily.
