AERIAL'ATTACK
POSITION OF BRITAIN.
NEED FOR PREPARATION
LONDON-, November 14.
Discussing the policing of the Empire, iSif Hugh Elies, • director of military training at the War Office, speaking at. the King’s College, said aerial attack could come .only from a Power geographically'near. If Britain were beaten navally or aerially it would be all up with the British Isles. “A preparation might be -deferred, hut not dismissed,” said Sir Hugh. “If we ‘ratted’ on Locarno, we might be suspected of repudiating other treaties. Locarno implies action for or against a first-class military /Power.”
