BOARDER’S STATEMENT.

The only boarder at the hotel was S.Higgs, a stud-master. He (states he was roused -at two o’clock by the screaming of Mrs Eraser .and her daughter Joyce. Mrs Eraser cried .“D<m’s been shot.” He rushed to the room and found Eraser lying on the floor, among the bed clothes which veie covered with blood. Fraser was then ,in a dying condition. The bedroom light was turned on, hut there was no sign of any intruder. Higgs rang for a doctor who summoned the police. •Higgs heard no shot, but thiis was not strange as the hotel was, built of concrete blocks.
Detectives have -been unable to find any tracer of the gnn. -J: . . .. • The barmaid dfd not Jive -at -the hotel, but in a cottage nearby;
