HAZELHUiRST’S MINOR OFFENCE. ' TAXI-MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL (P«r Press Association—Copyright). CHRISTCHURCH, November 16. In the collision case, at the ,conclusion of the evidence, the Magistrate said he was satisfied that Hazelhurst ought not to fis committed for reckless driving. On the charge of driving at a speed dangerous to the public, the Magistrate said that he was convinced that .Hazelhurst was travelling at a speed of well over 20 miles an hour. He would alter the charge to driving at a speed which might have been dangerous to the public, and would treat offence ag ,a minor breach. The Magistrate fined Hazelhurst £2 ■and costs on that charge, ,and 10s and costs for driving without a license. In the collision case, Cockburn pleaded not guilty to a charge of neg- 1 iigent driving so. as to cause bodily i harm, and he was committed to the 'Supreme Court for trial. Summary I charges against Cockburn were adjourned. Bail was fixed at £IOO, with one surety of £IOO. j
