SEVERE INJURY

MAN ATAOKED' BY A BULL.

OPOTIKI, ..November 14

A single man, Mr Keith Forbes, a sharemilker for Mr R. Walker, of Talijclands, Opotiki, was admitted to the hospital to-day with severe injury to the leg as the result of being gored bv a Jersey bull.

Mr Forbes was engaged on horseback in driving cows to a paddock after milking them when the bull attacked him, upsetting both rider and horse. Mr Forbes’ left leg ; was severely lacerated by one of tire -animal’s horns. The horse was so severely injured that it had to be destroyed. Medical aid was , summoned and Mr Forbes was removed to hospital. His condition is not serious.

The bull had always been considered to be quite safe.
