Mr Roosevelt announced to-day that the Secretary for the Treasury (Mr Woodin), would begin complete leave of absence during the week-end, pending the return of Mr Henry Morgenthau, jr., acting-Secretary. Mr Woodin tendered bis resignation which Mr Roosevelt did not accept, preferring the .Secretary to take a complete rest, and.' recuperate from a throat infection.' ....

LONDON, November 14.
' Sir. T. M. Wilford has accepted a seat on the directorate of the National Bank of New Zealand. Newspapers regret his relinquishment of the High Commissionership, and pay tribute to h.is services to the Dominion, and his gift as an after-dinner speaker.
A SOCIETY MARRIAGE
LONDON, November 14.
Lord Long, of Wraxhatt, who is shortly joining Lord Bledisloe’s staff, was married to Laura, daughter of the Hon. Guy Charteris, at 'St. Margaret’s, Westminster. The, gifts including, tin inlaid antique card table from the Princess Royal (Princess Mary), a silver cigarette case from the Duke of Connaught, and a lacquered bridge tabie from Princess Helena Victoria. ■Oln leaving the church, the bridal couplje’ traversed the “Field of Rememfirafyee’* at Westminster Abbey.
