HOSPITAL BOARD
81-MONTHLY MEETING. The; ‘.Westland Hospital Board nipt last evening at 8.30 o’clock. Present: Messrs W. Jeffries '(chairman), T. W. Duff, fW; A. Jamieson, ,G. Davidson, W. Evenden, H. Wells, M. Keenan, M. McGavin, . , R.. .Meharry, and Rev. ] Knights 1 j Motion of Condolence. The Chairman moved a vote yf condolence to Mr W. A. Jamieson and the members of the family in the loss they . had sustained since the last meeting of the' Board, the Chairman paying a tribute to the late Mrs A. Jamieson.— ) Carried in silence, members standing. DEPUTATION. Rev. R. Newcombe and Mr J. J. McKay waited on the Board. (Referred to in separate article.) REPORTS. The Treasurer reported:—Receipts, £1,128 12s 2d; payments, JB6BB 2s 7d; credit bank balance, £1,563 8s 9d.—Re-, ceived. . The Finance Committee recommended payment of accounts amounting to £256 3$ Hd. —Approved. Small ’ matters dealt with by the House Committee were reported to the Board, and action approved, on the motion of Mr Davidson. The Acting-Matron reported that Matron Anderson was on leave. The month had been a busy one, with an increase in the., number of operations—Received. The Medical Superintendent reported:—'Patients in hospital on Ist Oct., 25 males, 24 females—49; admitted during Oct., 29 males 20 females. Total treated, 98; discharged cured, 26 males, 15 females; died, 1 female; total discharged 24 males, 16 females—42. In hospital 31st Oct., 28 males, 28 females—s 6. In hospital for two months 6 males, 9 females—ls.—Received. INWARD CORRESPONDENCOE.;' From Mrs Kenning resigning position as kitchenmaid.—Received and accepted. From Thomas H. Daly, expressing appreciation of treatment received at hospital.—Received. From Health Department, asking for returns, —Received.. From. W. F. Ziegler,., • applying f.for •annual 'leave.-—Received; deferred to next meeting. N From F. McCabe, applying for an increase of salary.—Received. The Chairman moved that the salary lie increased to £235 per annum. Seconded by Mr Duff and carried. From Harry Wells, resigning his position a s a member of the Board from that night.—Received, the Chairman thanked Mr Wells for the good | work he had done for the Board in tl’e past four year. He moved the resignation be accepted and appreciation of j his services ho recorded on the minutes | Seconded by Mr Meharry and carried. !
