MURDERED NADIR
DETAILS REVEALED
CRIME A SEQUEL TO INTRIGUE.

Details of the assassination of Nadir Shall are now revealed. The crime was committed on Wednesday afternoon at a prize-giving ceremony in Arg Palace, Kabul, when three revolver shots were fired from a crowd of onlookers. Tlte King was killed immediately with a bullet in Ids heart. The assassin, wln> was iarrested, 'was tile, student soil of an old servant of General Ghulam Nabi, who was executed a year ago, and he had previously been pardoned by the late King ior intrigue.
The murderer was roughly handled by students, but was rescued by the police. ’ Crowds rushed into tne streets, crying, “The King i s dead.” ,
It is emphasised that the assassination was not- due to any widespread disaffection, but was a sequel to an intrigue carried on by a section of the community favouring the return of exKing Amanullah. A statement issued by the Afghan consul at Bombay gays that the Cabinet a(nd State ,officials remain the same a.s urnju’ the' Nadiil’s regime, and there . will bo no -change in tho domestic or . foreign policy.,.
