REDUCTION CAUSES PROTEST AMONG GISBORNE “HEADS” (Per Press Association, Copyright). GISBORNE, November 10. The mooting considered ifhat there was no possible justification for refusing sustenance to many who had no chance of obtaining work. Eventually it was .agreed.to protest to the Minister, and the meeting adjourned, pending a reply. If the protest is unsuccessful, it is suggested that delegates from all parts of the Dominion should be invited to form a deputation to Wellington to insist on fair treatment of the workless, without differentiation in favour of the large centres.
