Wintry conditions set in over the whole of Great Britain yesterday, with a renewal of the gale ,011 the west coast and showers of sleet, hail or snow in most parts of - the country. The snow in certain parts ,of northern England and Scotland has impeded road traffic. ■ ■ / During the heavy weather In the North Sea several' steamers sougnr shelter in Bridlington Bay, including a Dutch motorship, the “Europa,” of Groningen, whose compass , wheelhouse and forecastle were washed away. Several .trawlers were in difficulties.
