l. The annual meeting of the Hokitika Cricket Club will be held in Keller’s sample rooms next Thursday evening. At the R.S.A. euchre to-night the scores count in the monthly aggregate, and the winner will 'be announced at the termination of play. The ''professional touch” —homo dye ing made eaoy with Fairy Dyps.—Advt. Great excitement is being caused throughout town and country over the shipwreck ball on Wednesday evening in aid of the Maori Pah W.I. It is understood .a great number of survivors have been saved and these will parade at 11 p.m., after which the prizes for the most appropriate costumes will be presented, valuable prizes having been presented. As this is the first of its kind yet held in the district the committee are doing their utmost t.o make thp occasion a memorable one. Music will be supplied by the 'Happiness Boys and the floor will be in capital order, an efficient M.C. and a plentiful supply of supper.
