He said he believed that it would be in the interests of ratepayers of the counties and boroughs combined. He would retain hi s seat on the Hospital f Board, as he was specially m-jrest'.u in that work. The hospitals in New Zealand were, without exception,. extremely well run, and he had nothing but favourable comment to make on them. The Mayor of Eltham said .they sorry at Dr Valintine’s retirement, because his work had been' much appreciated.
