DAIRY QUOTAS
THEIR REJECTION BY N.Z. URGED. MR POLSON OUTLINES PROPOSAL (Per Press Association — Co pyright ) WELLINGTON, October 25. An alternative proposal to straightout .rejection of the proposed British quotas against the importation of primary produce into Britain was outlined by. Mr Poison at to-day’s meeting of the Dominion executive of the Farmers’ Union. He contended that if the Home authorities would agree to fix a minimum price for British cheese the New Zealand Dairy Board had power to fix a minimum price for New Zealand cheese. He already had suggested that to the Dairy Board. Under the market scheme the Milk Marketing Board would fix a minimum price , for the whole of the milk sold in Britain, representing 66 per cent of the total output. Only 9 per cent wont into cheese, and if they oould fix a minimum price for 66 per cent .there was no reason against fixing a minimum price for another 9 per cent.
