PIGEON FLYING

LOCAL CLUB HOLDS RACE Yesterday the 'J oca-1 /pigeon flying club held a race in fine weather, and the race- proved a great success. J. Lawn gained first and second- places. The results were:—J Lawn, 1195 yards per min, 1; J. Lawn 11S3, 2; J. Andrews, 1042, 3 ; D. Herring 1012, 4; G. Kerr 1011. 5 ; H. Pierson 1006, 6. The junior members of the Club hold their first race from Ross yesterday, tlie result being, Windfall Lofts 1; Golden Vest 2; Lucky Bird Lofts 3. Very keen interest is shown in these races by the lads. The club sent a large box of pigeons to Christchurch to-day.
