RUGBY FOOTBALL

N.Z. UNION CONSIDERS OFFER. TOUR OF BRITAIN IN 1935-36. (Pet Press Association—Copyright). WELLINGTON, October 24. Notification of the International Board’s decision has been received by the New Zealand Rugby Union from the secretary of the English Rugby Union, and Mr S. S. .Dean (chairman) stated to-day that the matter would be considered at a special meeting of the New Zealand Union’s management committee to be held at an early date. He added that a circular had already been sent to the Unions in New Zealand asking them for their opinion as to whether a tour should take place in 1935 or 1936, and replies had been received from most Unions. The position in regard to Australia was also to be considered, and that was a little difficult. However, the whole question would be gone into by the management committee at a special meeting!

FRANCE SEEKS READMISSION. LONDON, October 24. It is believed that, the International Rugby Board will refer to the four British Unions France’s request for re-admission to the international contests. France is anxious for re-admis-sion because she is adverse to the introduction of the Rugby League code,; which the Rugby Board are making a strong effort to kedp out, including the banning of an Anglo-Australian match' at the Columbes. stadium.
