CLIMBER HURT
BREAKS LEG 3N 50 FEET FALL LATER CARRIED DOWN 3000 FT. (Per Press Association — Copyright ) BLENHEIM, October 23. An accident occurred yesterady morning when a climbing party was negotiating The Pinnacle (G97oft), the highest peak in Bounds Range. Theodore B. Hay, a well-known Blenheim draper, slipped on a snow slope a short distance from the summit and slid 50ft. till he was brought up by a rock, the impact breaking his right leg. Two companions, Frank Patchett and J. H. Hadfield, carried Mr Hay over 3000 ft. down the mountain side, and there the injured man was placed on a horse which had been brought up from the base camp. Blenheim was readied! twelve hours after the accident. and Mr Hay was taken to the hospital.
