Forty were killed in the derailment of the Cherbourg-Raris expiesg near iContehes. The derailment is believed to be the .result of foul play. The express was crossing a viaduct over a small river, seventy miles from Paris, when it left the rails, while travelling at high speed. Tne engine tu.wier, guard’s van, .and three coaches crasiied over the parapet ■and fell thirty feet and were shattered to matchwood. The telegraph wires wore cut, and the line blocked. Ten bodies thus far have been recovered.
