N.Z. PIG INDUSTRY
REPRESENTATIVES CONFERENCE AN IMPORTANT STEP MADE (Per Press Association — Copyright ) HAMILTON, October 21. An important step towards , placing the pig industry on . a better footing was announced to-day after considerable discussion among representatives of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Amalgamated Dairies the New Zealand P.'g Marketing Association hud the Kiwi Bacon Company, Palmerston North. It has been decided to form a new co-operative company, to purchase the assets of the Kiwi Company. The new company will be known at the Kiwi Co-operative Bacon Co. Ltd., and the present capital, £3(5,0C0, will be held as ' follows; New Zealand Dairy, Amalgamated Dairies and Picot Bros., Ltd., £10, : 000 each; Pig Marketing Association, £6OOO. -Tt'is intended to increase the capital to £40;000 by ‘ the creation of 4000 new shares, to be taken by the New Zealand P.g Marketing Association. The main object behind the movement it to secure for pig producers a permanent 'outlet for bacon pigs.. -
