METEOROLOGICAL
One of the oncoming westerly depressions mentioned yesterday crossed the southern portion of the South Island last night, and is moving rapidly eastward, and was deepening this morning. The weather is warm and sultry at many places north of Otago, and there is n greater likelihood of good rains in the near -future. " 1
The forecast is . for moderate to stroug southwest to westerly winds. Weather unsettled with rain. Tempomoderate; seaa rather rough.
