THEFT CHARGE
(Per Press Association — Copyright. AUCKLAND, October 19. Hugli Clashen McOready, 32, a printer, was 'committed for trial on a charge of stealing £IOO, the : property of H. C. Mclntyre. Evidence showed that both were patients. in: the public hospital and Mclntyre confided lie had £IOO to collect from the'Public Trust, office. Accused v.qTaiiteerod :i to collect it for him, anil, Mclhityre (gave him an order and also 1 lent/him his overcoat, and .gave him £1 tcL'huy a wallet He never' saw accused again till in Court to-day.
The police said accused told them he had spent, all the money except fivepence. When asked hou r he spent it lie replied that lie did not know exactly, but her name was Nellie. Accused pleaded not guilty.
