After having ljad seven days’ bright sunshiny weather, it was a big disappointment to the Titirangi Golf Club and the officials of the New Zealand Golf Council, to have a wet day on &aturua;y for tone playing of the final, of the amateur ciiampionship, and the play-off o. the tie in the open ciiampionship. The former title was won easily by V. P. YVriglit, of Otago Club, who defeated H. A. Black/ oi Miramar, 13 up; wJiile the open championship match was abandoned at the sixth green in the afternoon, when Moss and Douglas were all square. All of the greens were then soaking wet, and after consultation with the umpire, it was decided to abandon play and to replay over the 36 holes on Monday.

Findlay, 1 up; Miss Helean beat Miss Hansen, 1 up at the twentieth; Mrs Wilkin beat Mrs Johnston 1 up : Miss McFarland baet Mbs Harkness 6 and 5; Miss Ratll» bone beat Mrs Newton 2 up; Miss Gaisford beat Miss V; Fleming 2 and 1 j Mrs Collinson beat'Mjss White-Parsons 6 and 4; Mrs Robinson beat Mrs Carr 2 and I; Mrs Stout boat Mrs Wilson 3 and 2; Miss Rutherford beat Mrs McCarthy 5 and 1; Mrs Blain beat Mrs Rota 4 and 2; Miss Grace beat Miss Wilson 1 up; Miss 0. Kay beat Miss K. Johnston; 7 and 6; Miss Barns-Graham beat Miss Blytli 5 and 4; Miss Ormond beat Mrs Thomson 3 and 2, Miss Grace beat Miss Holmes 2 and 1.
At the ladies’ golf tourney the excellent putting of Miss Barns-Graham and the consistently good long game of Mrs Guy Williams resulted in the pair returning the really good card of 82 to win the championship foursomes in which they were two strokes better than any other competitors, and six ahead of the holders, Miss Kay and Miss Gaisford. 1 The next best cards were Miss M. James and Miss Hornabrook, 84; and Mrs Cook and Mrs Butler 84.
N.S.W. CHAMPIONSHIP..
SYDNEY, October 15.
Brilliant rounds of 69 and 68 enabled Jim Fonder to win the close golf championship of New South Wales yesterday with an aggregate of 291. His rounds were 77, 77, 69,.and 68. V. S. Richardson the former title holder, was second with an aggregate of 294, and W. Bolger was third with 29?.
