60,700 DEATHS IN BRITAIN.
AMERICAN CURE OF DISEASE.

CHICAGO, October 12
Professor Allen, who has participated in the American College of Surgeons symposia on the importance oi accuiate hospital records and a R° national broadcasting regarding the F ei natal care of women, has informed the Australian Press Assn, that in the discussions at the Congress it was decided that cancer is curable. He said that there are encouraging results of the treatment of the disease at the American centres.
Emphasis is being put on early diagnosis, and also on the further education of the public. There were statistics adduced from which it is known that cancer cures of ail types which have have been without any recurrence have in five years totalled 24,448
Professor Vihitehouse. the representative of the British College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said that cancer is undoubtedly increasing in England and Wales where 60,716 persons have died in the last twelve months from the disease.
