REPORT IN HOUSE

PRIME MINISTER IN SUPPORT. (Per Press Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, October 13. The report on the .World Economic and 'Monetary Conference was discussed in the House of Representatives yesterday, and was interrupted when the Rouse t)ose 'at 10.30 p.m. till tins tiKcuing.

The Prime Minister (the Hon. G. W. Forbes), said that valuable discussions had taken place at the Conference on central banks. There had been no two opinions in regard to the necessity for every country having <a central bank which was recognised as an essential part of banking machinery. Mr M. J. Savage, Leader of the Opposition, said die would not contend that a central bank •would necessarily he 'b.id, but he would say that the banking system controlled bv private enterprise would necessarily be bad.
