A mysterious crime was committed here early this- morning, following which the body of John Stanislaus Keane, aged 37 years, bookmaker, with three millet wounds in the head and the neck, was found near the pavement at Mascot, The poljce are of the opinion, that ■Keane has been the victim of a gangster outrage. , It is believed his murderer took him in a car for a Tide, and shot him at close range, as there were powder marks on the face, It is believed that the murderer dumped the body where it was found. Two shillings were found in the .pockets of Keane. Deceased lived at Underdiffe the Sydney suburb, four miles distant from Mascot.
