HOKITI'KA LADIES WIN. , In fine weather and before a. fairly large attendance of spectators, at Westport on Thursday, the Hokitika Ladies’ Hockey Club team defeated Wesley by the only two goals of the match, on Victoria Square The visitors showed the better team work, and were an all round superior side. The Hokitika ladies engaged in some perfect passing and only determination on the part of the home defence saved the side from a far more heavy defeat. In the opening half, Miss Hughes ionnd the net- for the visitors, and in the second half, Miss Hall increased the - score, whilst Wesle v failed to open their account. Alisses Daly, Dowell and Hall were always prominent for Hokitika and Misses Lock- , Shaw and Henderson for Wesley.

The team returned to Hokitika late last night.
