CARS CAPSIZE
OCCUPANTS-. ESCAPE. IN JURY. THAMES, September 27. Two more accidents occurred on the Hauraki Plains in which cars capsized into drains,* t but fortunately no one was injured. Shortly after ml-cLtt'ay a ear driven by -Mr W. Quinn, of Waitakaruru, and containing several passengers was proceeding along OiAlrard -East - Road 1 , Ngatea, when" it skidded and -capsized into the drain opposite ■ Mr W. MacDuff’s house. No damage .was done to the ear and the occupants escaped injury? After being !, -pulled out- the oar was able to proceed under its own power. A; light sedan car drive'll by a Mr Hardman, of Auckland, skidded in loose- metal on Boom Road opposite Mr F.. J. Stretton’s house, Waitakaruru, at about 1.30 p.m. and overturned into a deep drain. The driver had a . lucky escape from serious injury. The.front wheels and steering gear of the car were badly twisted and the mudguards smashed.
