SYDNEY POSITION SERIOUS TURN SYDNEY, September 28. • The fellmongers’ strike took a serious turn to-day when at a meeting of the Disputes Committee of the Trades land Labour-Council, it was decided to reecmmenci That all of the unions having members emifoyed :in those factories that at present are affected by the- strijee should qease work. These works comprise the electricians, engineers, textile \ workers, engine drivers, firemen, transport workrs, whose unions are shortly holding a. meeting to discuss the foregoing recomlllendrt(tion. The employers’ representatives have decided to. engage no volunteer labour. They will close their works indefinitely.

Five machine guns, tanks and a hundred infantrymen arrived by special trarii from Toronto to protect the Swift Canadian Meat Factory, " which was stormed thrice on Tuesday, by strikers attempting to force strike breakers to qu'it the jobs. Local police were driven off the premises and stoned by the mob.
