The Royal Ancient Golf Chill, have unanimously approved of revised golf rules, which will operate from January Ist next. The new rules' were dr-fted after consultation with the United States and the Dominions. There are no drastic changes, the alterations- being chiefly aimed at making the wording of the present rules cle-'rer. Th's is the cage, notably with the fiagstick rule for match play, in which, now, either party is entitled to ' remove die flag. The more generous lifting' of any loose imped imeii is also allowed, and certain rules j have been re-grouped, while -another important adjustment enables special rules for match play to be absorbed i. u the general rules. The championship committee chairman. iMjr Boa-sp, ■reported that the edmir, it too were unable to reach a decision regarding am iteur status, which is stilj under , consideration.
