LABOUR TROUBLES
STRIKE ON RAND. MINERS RESUME. (United Press Association — By Electrio Tmegrapn—Copyright.) CAPETOWN, Sep. 27. The executive of the Miners’ Union has assured the Chamber of Mines that it will not sanction a strike, as indicated on September 21st, until meetings of the men have decided on the procedure flor the submission of (representations from them to the managers of mines regarding their grievances. The Chamber of Mines at Johannesburg agreed that there be no victimisation, nor an enforcement by the employers of a ten days’ penalty loi: each day lost". Thereupon the miners’ strike was abandoned.
SYDNEY STRIKE. FELLMONGERS CLOSING WORKS. SYDNEW Sep. 27. In consequence of the strike, the fellmongerv employers have decided to close their works for a fortnight, and their buying section for a week.
