OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. (Per Press Association, Copyright). WELLINGTON, Septemebr 27. The conference of Dominion School Committees to-night discussed in detail a proposal to form a national body and it was decided that the boundaries of the District Associations be defined by the executive of the Dominion Federation after consultations with the existing local associations affected.

Affiliation fees were fixed at £3 3s per annum for associations with forty school committees, and £2 2s for associations with less. The foimei will be entitled to two votes and the latter to one. It was also agreed to established delegates travelling expenses fund bv levy of 2s per committee. The conference passed a number of remits on educational matter, one favouring the wider development of district high schools in rura l an< * semi-rural areas. A resolution was also carried as follows: “That the deficiency in the education, system caused by the withdrawal of kin tier garten subsidies and the exclusion of five year old infants should be repaired at the earliest moment by the institution of a in dergarten Department at each primary' school, where children of kindergarten age may, voluntarily attend.
