OBITUARY
The death is announced of Mr Thomas Harry Bonn, aged 78. For 25 years he was secretary of the Stratford Hospital Board, and was the ~l'st Town Clerk of Stratford, being appointed to 1898, He resigned in 1902 to enter private practice as an accountant. He was secretary of several leading dairy companies and a member of the first party to climb Eginont from the Stratford side, being instrumental in discovering the route through the dense bush. He took an active part in connection with the commencement of the Stratford Main Trunk Line. He leaves a widow, one son and daughter. His brother are C. Penn, W. J. Penn, late editor of the- “Taranaki Herald” and V. J. Penn (Auckland).
