£5,000 CLAIM

AGAINST STUD OWNER (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, September 26. Damages of five thousand pounds are being claimed in the Supreme Court at Sydney by George Bell of Randwiek, from Herbert S. Thompson -and S. Readford, following on the death of the throughbred .mare Sundear, while giving birth to a foal to Heroic at Thompson’s stud, at Tarwin Park. Readford is an employee at the stud. Beil stated that the bought Sundear in New Zealand for a little more than two hundred pounds. He claimed that the mare died through inattention, and that her foal was mutilated •and killed during birth, and that it was therefore that he lost the mare and foal. The latter would be valued at 450 pounds.- The ca s e was adjourned.
