A feat unique 'in- a championship in golf was performed by Eric Fiddian, when playing Jack McLean in the final of the Irish open championship at Newcastle, County Down. .He twice holed out in one. In the first'round he holed his,tee shot at the seventh. 128 yards, and again holed his tee shot at the fourteenth, 21)8 yards/ Nevertheless, McLean retained his title by 3/2.
