MUIR DEFEATS ELLIOTT, (Australian Press Association), SYDNEY, September 23. Bonny Mufr (199*lbs) defeated King Elliott, N.Z., (1991b5) in a clever and fast wrestling ffiout, over six rounds at the Leichardt Stadium to.night, Elliott gained a fall in the; third round, after a series of flying tackles, Ig the four.h, Muir gained a fall with a short-ami scissors. The decision was giveijx to Muiif on points. NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 24. Jack Patterson'was responsible for a surprise defeat of Count Vargi. In rather a poor bout, thunderbolt, cuffs and slaps were freely interspersed with uvrestling,: which, otherwise, was hard, but not brilliant. Varga gained a fall in the third round, with headlocks. Patterson evened in the fourth with a spin and dump. In the seventh round, Patterson gained a fall with headlockg and a press.
