ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. VALUES yj; YESTERDAY’S SALE. (Per Press Association—Copyright). CHRISTCHURCH, September 20. ' While mutton rose in value, beet was cheaper d-l to-day’s Addington live stock sale. The store, sheep offered were keenly sought, all classes being in demand. There was a smaller yarding of mutton. Values were firm, although the market was irregular. An average rise of 2® per head was. recorded. Shorn sheep were offered to-dav for the first time this season, selling fully up to the other mu'Aon values. There wa s a larger yarding of spring lambs, many being of good quality. The market was firm at- late rates There was a slight easing, if anything. Best fine sorts realised 32s 7d ; light lambs sold from 22s 6d, and unfinished ones from 28s.

The beef market was erratic. The market opened firm, but a s further consignments arrived, values receded ns the pens became filled, especially for anything except first quality. The decline was more noticeable on the medium grades. . Best heavy bullocks sold at from 23 s to 25 s per hundredweight; light l20 s to 235. Best heifers and young cows sold to 26s ; -medium 23s to 265; plain to 21s per hundredweight, The be®t price was £ll ss, but one show bullock fetched £ls 12s 6d ; best heifers sold to £H 7 S 6(1; and best cows to £9 7s 6c1.,

Fat pigs were more numerous, and the quality was generally better. Porkers were slightly firmer. Ba p on sold nt late rates. Porkers sold from 24s 6rl to 29s 6d; heavier 31s 6d to 34 s 6d ; choppers to £3 ; light baconcrs 38* 6d to 45s 6d; heavy 48s to 54s 6(1; extra lienvv to ,C 3 ss.
