(Australian Press Association),
(Received this dav at 11.0 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sep. 20.
The 1 State budget will be delivered next Tuesday. It was considered by a meeting of Government parties, at which the Premier (Mr B. S. B. Stevens) indicated that the main points ■would be a reduction in wages, a tax on a graduated basis from 10 per cent on lower incomes to about 25 per cent on higher" salaries. The endowment tax is to be abolished, and railway fares generally reduced. The child endowment scheme will probably be amended by ■ reducing the qualifying income to £IOO per annum. At present between 60,000 and, 70,000 others receive endowment payment, totalling £2,100,000.
