TO PLAY COAST AT GREYMQUTH.

The Canterbury Rugby Union has agreed to the request of the West Coast Union that the Canterbury A iitteen visit Greymouth and play the Coast on Saturday, October 7.
Nint-een.-players will be sent, including all Shield men, except A. 11. Andrews, with Mr H. E. Davis as manager.
In the event of the demand becoming apparent, the matter of organising an excursion to Gv-cymoutli for the match may be considered. -
NO SOUTH ISLAND MANAGER.
CANTERURY UNION’S CONCERN

The statement made at the meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union that no manager had been appointed for the South Island team to play the North Island at Wellington on Saturday led. to some members expressing concern.
“There-Ims always been laxity in getting the South Island team on to the field,” said •Mr J. ,K. 'Moloney._ The president (Mr A. E, McFhail), closed the discussion when he remarked that the South Island selectors, Messrs P. Harvey and A .Adams, would be travelling with the team. “We can safely leave it to them,” he said.
BULLER TEAM FOR SATURDAY.

Puller’s team to play West Coast on Saturday will lie the same as that which played against Oanteihurj, except that Lodcr will replace Holder, and Swan (G vanity) will fill the vacancy caused by the departure from the district of Gilsennan. LILBURNE FOR DUNEDIN. WELLINGTON, Sep 19. Another Rugby football loss to Weellington, in addition to that caused by H. F. McLean’s pending departure for Auckland, i s likely in the near future. It is understood that H. T. Lilburne is being transferred to Dunedin, although reports from Auckland suggest that he may he playing for Otalnihu next iseason. Lilburne has been a great figure in local and New Zealand Rugby football’.

It was decided that Messrs A. Fong, B. Scandret-t and R. King be congratulated on their selection for the South Island team.
