It as expected„ that the appointment of several Legislative Councillors would be one of the first matters dealt with by the Hon. G. AY. lorbes on hig return, but it is understood he is doubtful 'whether ally appointments will be made for some time. In any case if appointments are made it is practically certain the appointees will -not be called before the opening of Parliament oh Thursday. It is also doubtful whether there will be an early appointment) of a new r judge ,to succeed Mr Justice Adartis, '
