At the Franco-German meeting at the Columbes Stadium, Lovelock who made his own race for half a mile, failed by three-fifths of a second to break la Doumegue’s record of 2291-5 seconds for the 1509 metres, attributing his non’ success to having nobody to extend him in the ‘ last stage. The-result of the meeting was Germany 83 points, France GO.
