SOUTHLAND INTEREST PAID. GOVERNMENT TO FIND £8250. (Per Pre ss Association. Copyright). INVERCARGILL, -September 15. The -amount of its half yearly interest to its London bondholders, £41,350, was paid to the bank to-day by the Southland Power Board ( When converted into its sterling equivalent in Louden, the amount will represent £33,000. The Government has announced its intention of paying the difference, £8250, thus enabling the bondholders to receive the full amount as in sterling. REUTER AGENT’S SUICIDE. ' NEW YORK, .September 14. Bernard Butterfield, aged 26 years, local Commercial Agent for Reuters, Limited, committed suicide in h'S apartment to-day. He telephoned to -his ’ assistant, Mr Alien, Trower. at Router’s Office, and said: "Will you hold the line \a minute.” Tro wen then heard a detonation, and he hurried to Butterfield’s apartment, where he found the latter had shot himself through the mouth with a shot gun.
