EVERYBODY’S PICTURES. “THE FACE AT THE WINDOW” AND “COME ON DANGER.” A well sustained plot ot bank robberies in Paris by an underworld ring, which kills its : victim s by poison, makes “The Face at the Window” an exciting film. The development of the story achieves genuine interest, and effective ultimate surprise in the identity of the head of the ring. Acceptable light comedy relief is provided by Claude Hulbert (brother of Jack) as Peter Pomeroy, the detective’s assistant, Capable portrayals by the cast generally, good settings, photography and recording enhance the interest of {his British RIvO Radio picture, which concludes tonight at the Princess Theatre. Hie story concerns the efforts of Paul Le Grqs, famous detective, to discover the killers of bank night-watchmen. After one such murder, most people believe the murderer is Imcien Cortier, between whom and hank manager’s daughter is an apparently hopeless love affair; but the audience knows better (or thinks it does) to the effect that the culprit is Oortier’s unsuccessful rival in love, the rather sinister Count Jour-

nal. Fournal accuses Cortier of being the mysterious robber and shoots him in a duel. A false message lures Marie J)e Brisson (daughter of the hanker) to Fournal’s underworld haunt; She is rescued. however, by Paul and Peter, and finally, Paul,, by a ruse, traps the real criminal in a scene that lias great tensity and provides that surprise that is the exciting and satisfactory climax. Marie is played by Tsla Eevan who makes a Very attractive heroine. She was seen last in the Sherlock Holmes story “The Sign of Four,” The rest of the cast is made up of capable actors from stage and screen, including Raymond Massey and A. Bromley Davenport. •
