HAWES DEFEATS FRANKLIN. (Per Press Association—Copyright). CHRISTCHURCH, Sepehiber 12. Percy Hawes (Christchurch) beat Joe Franklin (Hawke's Bay) on points in a featherweight professional boxing contest to-night. The margin of points was close, but liawes shaded Franklin most of the way.
*lt was announced that the Otago Boxing Association lias matched Johnny Leckie with the winner. This will be a bout for the title, on October 2.
