RECORD POLL ANTICIPATED. (Per Pro's Association —Copyright.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 13. A heavy poll is expected in the Lyttelton by-election to-clay. The whole electorate has been thoroughly canvassed by party organisations, and despite a light rain, there was a steady stream of voters at all the principal booths from noon onwards. The totals may be a record for a New Zealand by-election. RELAYING PROGRESS RESULTS. In connection witli the Lyttelton byelection progress reports of the voting will be sent by the Telegraph Department to all telegraph and telephone, offices, which have an attendance at the necessary hours. The returns will also be broadcast by tbe national stations.
